I recently decided to replace the previous Nikon D800, which has served me well for the past eight years. I found that Canon EOS R is the best solution for me in terms of size and performance. Canon RF 35mm lens came like a cherry on the pie.
Why did I decide to buy Canon EOS R?
Here are a few things why I decided to by Canon EOS R and Canon RF 35mm lens. It has a full-format dual-pixel CMOS sensor, a focus system that works perfectly, thanks to the advanced face and eye detection system, UHD 4K 10-bit video via HDMI output, and C-Log recording. These are some of the main reasons why I decided to purchase this guy.
I bought two lenses explicitly designed for Canon EOS R. The RF 35MM F1.8 MACRO IS STM and the RF 85MM F1.2L USM. Both are brilliant, but I’m focusing on the first one in this article. One of the reasons for that is the price, which is around $500, and that’s pretty cheap compared to the 3x more expensive Canon EF 35mm f / 1.4L II USM. By reading several reviews, I figured that it might be an excellent lens, so I decided to buy it, and I can say that there was no mistake!
Canon RF 35mm lens is one of the ten different RF lenses for the Canon EOS R System, which is their first mirrorless camera system. This lens covers the full sensor format and supports 5-step image stabilization. Its maximum aperture is f / 1.8, with a minimum object distance of 17cm, indicating that it’s a macro lens and the ability to emphasize small objects or it’s parts.

As I like to see how the lens works in practice, and most often bypassing the reading of the detailed features of the lenses, I presented a set of photos that I did with this lens. I’m also tagging the parameters of the camera and the glass itself.
